Going to the cha-a-a-pel

…she’s gonna get ma-a-a-rried!

This past weekend was a weekend that I had been looking forward to for quite awhile. It was one of my best friend’s bridal showers and bachelorette parties. I was really looking forward to celebrating her upcoming nuptials to her amazing fiance, lots of girl time, lots of talking, and lots of eating. I love any excuse to design invitations and party plan, so here’s a little recap of the weekend.

Amanda did an amazing job with everything! Complete with colorful fruit kabobs, wedding bell and cake sandwiches, and a bloody mary bar!

All of the girls!

Mollie with her bridesmaids, minus Catie who lives in Arizona. She was missed!

Doc, Dopey, and Bashful 🙂
In the 6th grade, instead of passing notes between each other, we had an entire notebook. We had code names so that if it every was placed in the wrong hands, they wouldn't know it was us.

The Mother of the Bride and the Bride-to-Be

Here's a view of the banner that I made for Mollie - "From Miss To Mrs"

We played a new game called "Who Said It". Before the party, we asked Mollie and Matt the same set of questions. At the party, we read only one of the answers and everyone had to flip their sign to who they thought said it. It actually turned out to be a pretty fun game and we learned even more about the couple.

The lovely bride-to-be with the honeymoon package some of us got her 🙂

All in all, I would say it was the perfect day for Mollie! The weather was beautiful, we had great company, and came away with great memories – what more could we ask for! It makes me even more excited for their big day!

Hoppy Easter!

{via}

My Easter involved lots of family time, baby shopping time, and nap time(s).

Not too shabby of a weekend if you ask me!

First , we bought a chair for Baby’s room. It was a craigslist steal and nothing a slipcover can’t make perfect. We also got Baby his first pair of cowboy boots. Love them! {Sorry for the blurry camera phone picture}

Saturday was a pretty lazy day as I ended up taking a 4 hour nap! {Is that still considered a nap?!} Guess this baby is taking a lot out of me lately! We went to parent’s Saturday night and dyed some easter eggs. I can’t remember the last time I did that – gets me excited to think about having the Baby here next year to do it with. Carrie was sweet enough to make him his own egg 🙂

Sunday we went to church and got a surprise by having Jake’s aunt, uncle, and cousins from Sartell visit!  Unfortunately, it was only a short visit as they were headed to the lake, but hopefully we’ll get to see them again soon. We then headed over to my parent’s house for lunch – which was delicious! It was my parents, Carrie, Grandma Sako, and our family friends, Bubba, and his two adorable little boys.  All the excitement wore me out and I proceeded to take another nap shortly after lunch. We finished watching Bubba Watson win the Master’s and then headed over to my other Grandparents as it was my Grandma’s birthday. {Happy birthday Grandmama!} All in all a pretty darn good weekend 🙂

Seeing dots

It’s been a polka dot kind of week.

There’s something about polka dots that I love. Simply put, they make me happy. They have this classic 50’s inspired feel that can be easily mixed or paired with more modern pieces that have the ability to brighten and liven up any outfit or room. Heck, anything – I love ’em!

So I’ve had my nails painted like this for the last week and have gotten tons of compliments on them. They’re fun and yet the colors are toned down enough to make them office appropriate.

I have this pair of wedges that I got probably 4 years ago that I still absolutely love. They were a steal from Payless and I think only around $20.

Start seeing dots in a whole new light! And trust me, they’ll make you happy, too 🙂
